MICA STRIP
Description
SunPass MICA STRIP, also known as mica tape, is a specialized strip product crafted from layers of mica material. This mica tape is meticulously constructed by bonding together numerous layers of thin mica sheets, which are then coated or impregnated with a resin, silicone, or various other adhesives to bolster its mechanical robustness and thermal resistance. This process not only increases the tape's durability but also ensures that it can withstand high temperatures and maintain its structural integrity, making it an ideal material for use in applications where heat and mechanical stress are significant concerns.
Application
Electrical insulation: MICA STRIP is widely used for coil winding insulation of motors, generators, transformers and other electrical equipment.
Thermal insulation: Mica tape can be used as thermal insulation material in situations where heat insulation and fire protection are required.
Refractory material: In high-temperature furnaces and kilnsMICA STRIP can be used as refractory material to protect metal structures from high temperature corrosion.
Electric heating elements: In the manufacture of electric heating elements, mica tape is used to insulate heating wires to prevent short circuits and overheating.
